Busy manufacturing plants cannot afford costly delays in production due to faulty equipment or breakdowns. They therefore depend upon teams of skilled Maintenance Fitters and Electrical and Electronic Fitters to keep them operating at peak efficiency.
Working in engineering maintenance you will run regular preventative checks on machinery and electronic control systems, fault find, analyse problems and provide cost effective solutions for ongoing repair programmes.
As a Maintenance Fitter, you will maintain and repair existing machinery or even assemble and install new machines. You could specialise as a bench fitter, diesel fitter mechanic, fitter machinist, fitter welder, fluid power fitter or maintenance fitter.
Electrical Fitters repair electrical machines, instruments and appliances and can specialise as switchboard builders, armature winders or electrical instrument fitters.
If you choose Electronic Fitting, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the advanced electronic equipment and systems needed to run a manufacturing plant.
