Once, beautiful stained glass and leadlight windows, doors and partitions were only seen in churches. Now, many homes feature decorative glass, while large panels are often used to enhance the look of lobbies in hotels and office buildings.

Creating stained glass and lead lighting is a great job for someone with a good eye for composition and colour, and who loves working with glass and light.

It will be your job to talk to clients and then create and draw a design from their specifications. You will then select and cut glass to the required size and shape, and fit it together with strips of lead.

Obviously working with glass means a great deal of care is required, and this is a craft that can take many years to master. But the rewards of seeing your work in public buildings, or the pleasure given to your private clients' in their homes, will pay dividends for many years.
